Today was my schools art show for the second semester work. I had 6 shots in photography, 1 CD cover & 2 photo manipulations for digital images, and a animation movie. I won one second place in one of my manipulations. I was a little upset because last semester i won allot more awards. On my way home from the exhibit i learned that awards are not the point to art. I guess i just wanted to win more. I thought about what really makes me happy, and that is the process which goes into the work. I'm usually not happy with the work ive completed after like a day or 2, but when i look back i see all the progress ive made from the beginning. That is the reason i love taking photos or doing anything on the computer. Is just working on the piece om doing. Thats what art means to me. Creating something yourself.
